I noticed tonight that my cable modem has a link status again and I even got a new IP addy from the DHCP server. Can't be too long before I'm back on-line. I can't blame AT&T for this fiasco, but read a lot of posts where people are making it sound like it's their fault. I'm always amazed at how far peoples heads can fit up their asses. In light of the @Homeless situation and the day I had at work, I conjured up some ideas for a new site. This one will be solely for fun. I call it DickedAgain.com (this may not be resolving just yet). The concept is a place where we can all gripe about shit that just seems to happen in our daily lives. Here's the example that solidified it for me today: I left the office at 4:00 PM to catch BART. I'm at the station at 4:05 and in the front of the line. The announcement for a Fremont train states that a 10 car train is arriving in 12 minutes. Not too bad, so I decide to wait it out. 12 minutes later, the Fremont train pulls in to the station, whizzes right past me (to those who don't know BART, 10 cars is the maximum length, so it fill the entire platform including the line I'm standing in), stops about 10o feet past me and as I and the other 30 people in the same line think it's overshot the station, the doors open. We all start scurrying to the last car to hop on when two old ladies get in our way on a narrow portion of the station. Unable to toss them aside, we impatiently walk until we're clear of them. As we're about 20 feet from the train, the doors close and the train takes off.
Loudspeaker: "10 car Fremont train arriving in 14 minutes."
Pffft... dicked again!
That's a small example of the day I had. Everyone can relate, no? So we'll provide places where everyone can share their "dicked again" stories. Every so often we'll vote on the "biggest dicking" and find some way to commemorate the person/place/thing. So now I'm off to try and hack into AT&T's network. Wish me luck and hope I don't get dicked again.
